I am very happy to learn that the Vatican has announced that Pope John Paul II will be beatified on May 1, 2011, Divine Mercy Sunday. I was blest to receive Communion from him during the beatification of our 2nd Pinoy saint, Blessed Pedro Calungsod of the Visayas on March 5, 2000. I accompanied Philippine former First Lady Loi Estrada to Rome for Jubilee Holy Year.
