Norman's 20th Month

Let us continue to pray for AngelOso Norman, who departed for the happy state with God 20 months ago, Aug. 27, 2010. Eternal rest grant unto him and all our departed family members, friends and colleagues.

OATH TAKING AT NATIONAL HISTORICAL INSTITUTE

April 23, 2010

This morning, I took my oath of office quietly as the next Executive Director of the National Historical Institute which will become National Historical Commission next month. The current Chairman, Ambeth Ocampo administered the oath with the outgoing Excutive Director Vic Badoy as witness. I will assume the office formally on June 1, 2010 after I complete my summer classes at Ateneo. I believe my term is 6 years, which will take me straight to my retirement age.

The aura and ambience of this government office is very professional and the culture is very encouraging. I still don't know why Pres. Arroyo appointed me there but am happy and grateful she did.

This is God's plan for me to help our fragmented nation and society. History can be a healing activity.

HAPPY 90TH BIRTHDAY TITA ELY

We thank God for our angel, Tita Ely who is now 90 years old and still active amid her occasional health problems. God give her good health and more happy birthdays.

SURPRISE 90TH BIRTHDAY LUNCH FOR TITA ELY

The Philippine side of the Jacinto-Villavicencio-Lopez clans celebrated Tita Ely's 90th birthday by giving her a surprise lunch at the parish hall of Christ the King. Rina took her to Mass there then brought her over after they visited the niches of our dearly departed, including Norman, for the birthday ambush. We are so happy and blest to have Tita Ely.

SENIORS' BONDING

April 7, 2010

Yesterday, I drove Mama (91 y.o.), Tita Ely (90 y.o.), and my brother Freddy (62 y.o.) to Tagaytay for the day. Visited our DAP Convention Center, the Good Shepherd Convent Deli Center before a great lunch at the ridgeside Ladera Grille. We then visited my friend Willy Versoza for dessert at his farmhouse before going to the Pink Sisters Convent to offer prayers. Last 2 stops included buying some ground native coffee at my favorite coffee store and some cool halohalo at the residence of my friend Kokoy Giron.

The seniors truly enjoyed the day. Am happy I could take them out to enjoy.
