Hariraya Puasa

August 30, 2011

Blest Hariraya Puasa & Eid Mubarak for Eid'l Fitr, the end of the holy Muslim month of Ramadan. On my way to the Golden Mosque downtown early this morning my jeep was hit by another jeep and I was thrown out of the front seat. Slightly bruised and scratched I stood up and proceeded to the the Basilica of the Black Nazarene in Quiapo for a Mass of Thanksgiving. Then, I walked to the mosque to offer prayers for peace with the other Muslim devotees. Before returning home, I enjoyed a halal breakfast with some Muslim brethren.

Godbless & cheers. Start of another phase of my refreshed life.

Norman's Third Death Anniversary

August 27, 2011

Very rainy Saturday morning. Had Mass prayers for Norman's eternal peaceful and happy rest this morning and said prayers at his niche. We celebrated with breakfast at Cafe France with family and friends.

Life goes on.

Peace

What seems to be happening to our nation

August 23, 2011

As the world moves on with its many problems our Philippines continues to struggle with its movement towards prosperity & mature politics. Our leaders are still in the mode of vengeance & advancement of their selfish interests. The poor are patiently carrying on with their very minimal possessions to stay alive meaningfully. Sad that all dimensions of our social life have been politicized along partisan lines. We long for a leader who will unite us and inspire us to work harder to make our nation truly worth loving and fighting for.

BTW, today is the anniversary of the Cry of Pugad Lawin by the revolutionary Katipuneros in 1896, which sparked the short-lived Philippine Revolution.

Feast of St Ignatius of Loyola

July 30, 2011

Tomorrow is the feast of San Ignacio de Loyola, founder of the Society of Jesus, the Jesuits. Am blessed to teach in the Jesuit University of Ateneo de Manila and that I was educated under their tutelage in grade school, high school and college. I experienced a truly meaningful formation to become an educator servant, guided by the Jesuit principles of AMDG, Magis, and being man for others. This is what national hero Dr. Jose P. Rizal learned and lived in his time.

I thank God for the gift of San Ignacio de Loyola, an effective Catholic activist at the time of the Protestant Reformation.

Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam!

Quiet Sunday Morning

This week has been rainy. And, very busy. Attended my 1st week of 6 full days of class lectures & workshops in the program Executive Doctorate in Educational Leadership at Development Academy of the Philippines. Learned a lot about my personality. My MBTI has moved from the previous INTJ to ESTJ. My Enneagram principal type is Servant (very appropriate) and my supporting type is Adventurer (just a point apart), with equal Multiple Intelligences of Nature, Music & Space. Which is probably why I am an Environmental Planner and a Cultural Advocate. Loved the lectures about Whole Brain Learning, Thinking and Acting. Meanwhile, am also enrolled in a subject Environmental Planning & Policy Analysis at UP SURP for my doctoral dissertation.
