I FORGIVE EVERYONE

January 19, 2010

Lord, today I choose to forgive everyone
Because you have forgiven me
I forgive my parents, spouse, partner, children
For any unlove and negativity
Knowingly or unknowingly bestowed on me.
I forgive my brothers, sisters, and relatives
Whose past negative actions
Continue to affect my life today.
I forgive friends and neighbors
For all wrongs ever done to me
I forgive the one person in my life
Who has hurt me the most
The one most difficult to forgive
As I forgive everyone today.
May they also forgive all my trespasses.
Amen

Death of Young Wife of My Young Cousin

January 2, 2010

My young cousin Jay Jacinto just lost his young wife, Aileen, to cancer last New Year's Eve in San Francisco. A very sad event for him and his family and for us. A friend sent this piece to console him.

LETTER FROM HEAVEN

To my dearest family,
some things I'd like to say.
But first of all
I arrived O.K.

I’m writing this from heaven.
Here I dwell with God above.
here, there’s no more tears of sadness;
here just eternal love.

Please don’t be unhappy
just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I am with you
every noon and night.

That day I had to leave you
when my life on earth was through.
God picked me up and hugged me
and said "I welcome you.
It’s good to have you back again,
you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family
they will be here later on.
There is so much we have to do
to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things
that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list,
was to watch and care for you.
and when you lie in bed at the night
and the day’s chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....
in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth,
and all those loving years.
because you are only human,
they are bound to bring you tears.

But be not afraid to cry:
it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers,
unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you
all that God has planned.
If I were to tell you
you wouldn't understand.

But one thing is for certain,
though my life on earth is over.
I'm closer to you now,
than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you
and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it
by taking each day at a time.
So when you are walking down the street
and you got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps
only a half a step behind.
And when its time for you to go...
from that body to be free.
Remember you’re not going..
you’re coming here with me.

Eternal rest grant to Aileen, Lord and let perpetual light shine on her. May she enjoy Your presence as her eternal reward.
